Founded in 1976 by the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Hearts of Jesus and Virgin Mary, Kiziguro Secondary School began as a Social/Familial School focused on educating girls for family care. Over the decades, our institution has evolved into a hub of academic and moral excellence.
In 1992, the school was renamed EAV Kiziguro and introduced Agronomy and Veterinary programs to empower local communities in agriculture and animal rearing. After closing during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, the school resumed operations in 1996 under the leadership of Emmanuel BAMUSANANIRE, who gave it the name “Kiziguro Secondary School” and introduced the school’s first logo.
With strong leadership from Father Isidore KARINIJABO (1998) and later Father Casimir RUZINDAZA (2018), the school has seen infrastructure growth, academic excellence, and even national recognition in sports — particularly handball.
To create a pathway that assists students in achieving their educational and personal goals, leading to a fulfilling future within the greater community.
To provide student-centered educational programs that challenge all students to perform at their highest potential.
